Sticks and rocks hurled in desperation
Futile against the Iron Fortress, edifice of the unconquerable

Volition within a prescribed fate
Governed within labyrinthian walls

Barbed ouroboros of eternal misery
The recurring eternal of warfare
The somatic form trampled, a mere vessel for survival

Driven by forces beyond control

Prisoners strangled each other in the night

Upon the plateau I beheld the death of multitudes
Sol Valtiva, irradiating the chaos
Anaemic herds caught in the tempest
Subterranean exiles flinch at the thunder of ordnance

Firestorms of choking embers envelop
Inferno without reprieve
Those that flee the flame
Suffocate on the ashes of their kin

Who controls the narrative, controls moral right
Who controls themselves, dictates the corporeal

A boot stamping upon my chest
Staring with cruel eyes, alight with malice
“I am that which you wish to become,”
Stabbed through heart

Nature itself served the fire, an unyielding force consuming all
If my progeny survived this inferno, they would spit curses upon my name
A future forsaken, no return to the comfort of falsehood

An outstanding Extreme doom death album, in the best tradition. The funerary atmosphere reminds of Evoken ('Centuries of ooze" bears striking similarities, for my delight). It is overall sharp, dark, hypnotic and unrelenting. One of those rare convincing new bands that hold proud the legacy of the biggest names. Bertrand Marchal
